This area offers high mountains, abundant recreation and beautiful scenery. It makes a great base camp for exploring nearby national parks (Bryce is about 37 miles away, Zion about 78 miles). Much of the land to the southeast is included within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The area offers unlimited opportunity to hike, canyoneer, ride horseback, explore off-road trail and participate in other adventures.
Brian Head resort is just up the mountain (20 miles) and offers great downhill skiing and summer mountain biking. Panguitch Lake is located on the edge of Cedar Mountain, which offers incredible snowmobiling.
Panguitch Lake itself is a good trout fishery. Nearby streams are popular with fly fishermen including Panguitch, Mammoth and Asay creeks and the upper Sevier River.
This area is about 210 miles from Las Vegas and 265 miles from Salt Lake City
