This is one of the most popular recreation areas in Utah. It is located about 70 miles from Salt Lake City (50 miles from Provo) via Hwy 40.

Strawberry Reservoir is Utah's premier fishery. It consistently offers good fishing even though it sustains more pressure than any other water in the state. It is good year-round for cutthroat and rainbow trout and also offers kokanee salmon. Other quality fishing waters in this area include the Strawberry River, Currant Creek and Currant Creek Reservoir, Red Creek Reservoir, the upper Duchesne River and the West Fork of the Duchesne.

Snowmobiling is very popular here in the winter, with several excellent groomed trails and extensive backcountry play areas.

This area is a gateway to the High Uinta Mountains. It is a popular area for camping, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and hunting.
