Description (Edit This)
Mirror Lake is a very popular water along Hwy 150 in the Uinta Mountains. It is stocked heavily and usually offers very good fishing for pan-sized trout. It is an excellent spot to take families and is usually kind to new fishermen.
Albino rainbows are stocked because they are highly visible. Kids have fun seeing and catching them.
A concrete boat ramp makes it easy to launch small boats.
There is a nice campground adjacent to the lake.

Seasonal Factors (Edit This)
This is mostly a summer/fall fishery. During winter the area is covered by heavy snow, and the lake is capped by thick ice.
Hwy 150 opens in late May some years, and early June others. The highway may open before ice is off area lakes. Late season ice is often rotten and dangerous.
Mirror and other lakes along the highway are heavily dependent on stocking. When the ice first comes off, Mirror may offer decent fishing but most lakes in this area are not productive until they have been stocked.
Good fishing usually continues through the summer and fall. Campgrounds here are popular during the fall hunting seasons. Fishing is usually good during the hunts.
It is often possible to drive 4X4 vehicles along Hwy 150 after snow starts to accumulate and lakes are ice-capped. Some drive in for early-season ice fishing. As the snow accumulates, snowmobiles are required to access the lakes. Early ice fishing can be productive but fishing conditions become very difficult as winter sets in.
Lures and Techniques (Edit This)
Rainbows and albino rainbows are relatively easy to catch using standard baits, lures and flies. Shore fishing is usually productive; people also do well fishing from small boats and float tubes
