Echo Reservoir gave up this huge smallmouth today. My nephew caught it bouncing a worm along the bottom, just off the rocky shoreline. We also hooked perch and rainbows. Fishing was never fast, but it was a fun day.

We launched at about 7:30 am, and it was already windy. Wind blew off and on all morning, sometimes strong enough to blow us around while using the electric motor. It was still a beautiful day.

The water level is definitely dropping, but we had no problem using the boat ramp and docks. Not many boaters out during the morning.

Echo is a good option for people who want to learn to catch smallmouth. It has a good population of smaller bass that are relatively easy to catch, along with a few big ones.
