We enjoyed fishing Sixth Water Creek on Sept. 10, 2025. Action was pretty good for smaller, wild brown trout. The leaves were just starting to change and the high country was beautiful.
This is my favorite time of year to get outdoors.
I threw flies and nymphs. My companion used small spinners. He caught more fish than I did, which is not unusual. We drove up high, above the bridge, and worked several beaver dams. It was great fun.
I know there are big browns and rainbows in the stream and they will become more active as fall sets in. I'll be back searching for them.
