Fishing Overview

Beautiful fall weather is expected to continue for the next several days. Fishing would actually improve if a cloud comes buy but right now it looks like we can expect extreme sunshine.

Strawberry normally offers excellent fall fishing, and it has come alive in recent weeks. We're hearing reports of great to incredible fishing, with lots of big ones being caught.

Jordanelle is also hot for trout, but not as many big ones. And most of our other trout reservoirs are fishing well.

Our trout streams also offer good to great action, and they should remain productive for the next several weeks. Watch for BWO hatches from late morning into the middle part of the afternoon. Nymphs and streamers are working well throughout the day and are particularly good early and late.

Green River is fishing well again. It has bounced back after slowing a couple weeks ago when they released cold water from the dam.

Lake Powell smallmouth fishing is very good but stripers are not biting. Stripers apparently have so much ready forage this year that few fish are willing to expend the energy needed to strike a lure. They are fat and healthy and should offer excellent fishing next spring.

Willard Bay wipers boil occasionally, similar to the stripers at Lake Powell. Luck into a boil and fishing there can be great.

Fishing Report
I enjoyed a great trip to Lake Powell last weekend. The weather was perfect and smallmouth fishing was fast. Stripers, well, they weren't cooperative at all. We were on Powell's San Juan arm, and also searched the middle lake. Here's my full report. Here are my photos.

Featured Recreational Property
There are some great deals right now on lots in Lake Powell view estates. These lots are near Page and actually do offer views of the lake. Check out this one, and also this one. Also consider this horse property in Page.
