Fishing Overview

Tis the season for ice fishing. The best report comes from Otter Creek, where action has been very good for big rainbow trout.

Strawberry has also been good and the main lake should now have safe ice. But test carefully before betting your life - there may yet be spots with thin or soft ice.

Jordanelle, Rockport, Echo and Deer Creek have had unsafe ice. That should change during the next few days, and fishing should be good, but use caution.

Fish Lake will also become solid about now and it should offer great ice fishing.

Utah Lake has safe ice in some harbor areas.

Flaming Gorge north end has safe ice in spots and good burbot and rainbows. Lake trout fishing is spotty through the ice. The Utah side may or may not ice up.
