Recreational Property
In general, prices are edging up as the economy recovers. But there are still great deals to be had. Consider this one:
- 67.95 acres of raw land along the Green River, just SW of the town of Green River, Utah. On the way to Moab, Arches and Canyonlands. Near the famous Crystal Geyser.
- Just $235,000
Details

Our wiki is coming together nicely. Recently added waters include:
Bear Lake
Hebgen Lake
Henrys Lake
Willard Bay

In every case, the wiki offers interactive maps showing key spots. I could really use help marking more spots on the maps. I'm not asking people to give away their family secrets. Just share good, basic info to help new fishermen.

I'm willing to pay for good articles on major lakes. I'm particularly interested in getting info on these waters.

- Jackson Lake
- Jenny Lake

Fishing Overview
Utah Lake walleye are in spawning mode. All known spawning spots are getting fished hard and some fish are being caught. Lincoln Beach has been crowded. Peak fishing will probably come next week, when we get some warm days with stable weather.

Willard Bay is running about 2 weeks behind Utah Lake. Lots of people have been trying there but so far very fish have been caught. The action will improve next week, and probably peak in mid-April. At Willard, the north and west dikes are usually the easiest places to find fish.

Otter Creek Reservoir has fishable open water on the south end but considerable ice still covers most of the lake. Some are fishing the open water from float tubes. I talked to a State Park's guy today and he said it will be another week or more before all the ice is off. Next Saturday should be prime time for ice-off fishing. Success can be excellent during the first few weeks after ice-off.

Piute Reservoir conditions are similar to Otter Creek.

Fly fishing continues to improve on our streams. On Green River you'll find good midge hatches, with BWOs just starting to be productive. The best hatches are occurring late morning to mid afternoon on the stretch just above Little Hole. The river isn't crowded yet, but that will change by mid-April.

Provo River has good midge and BWO hatches.

Weber River has fished surprisingly well during the past few weeks. It has good numbers of midges and also some Skwala Stoneflies.

Lake Powell fishing success will improve dramatically during the next couple weeks, as the weather warms. Here's what Wayne Gustaveson has to say: "Forage has been such that largemouth have grown to impressive size. It would not surprise me to see the lake record 10 pound 2 ounce largemouth record fall in 2010. The smallmouth record of 5 pounds 6 ounces is in real jeopardy. Take a scale along this spring in case you are the lucky angler. It would be nice to know if the huge fish in hand should be released or brought in for an official weigh-in ceremony.

"The real fun is a few weeks away. The best spring crappie fishing in decades will begin in April. That will be the highlight of the spring for me. If you haven't picked up on it yet, fishing at Lake Powell is going to be really good in 2010." Read his complete report.
