Featured Property
I noticed two hot property deals this week:
- 5 Acres in Spring City for just $29,000
- Partially constructed cabin in the Pine Creek Ranch development near Mt Pleasant, on 1.49 acres for just $34,000

What's New
I enjoyed a great trip to Lake Powell last weekend. See my trip report.

Where to fish over Memorial Day Weekend
Popular waters will be busy but there are places to get away from the crowds.

Lake Powell is worth the trip, even though there will be crazy busy. Get there early and boat away from the marinas. Fishing will be good lake-wide so you can easily find your own remote canyon.

Here are other good bets:
- Flaming Gorge
- Fish Lake
- Bear Lake
- Red Fleet
- Steinaker
- Piute

Bighorn Sheep
We stumbled upon a bighorn sheep near the mouth of Little Wild Horse Canyon, and managed to get it on video. See it here.

Events
Shad Rally is this weekend at Lake Powell.

Great Salt Lake Bird Festival starts tomorrow.

Utah Outdoor Adventure Expo, June 5-6, 2009 at the Utah State Fairpark, 155 N 1000 W, Salt Lake City. Information, demonstrations and products related to all kinds of outdoor recreation.

Free Fishing Day, June 6. A license is not needed to fish in Utah one this day only. All other regulations will be enforced. Clinics and workshops will be held in many locations to teach people to fish.

Fishing Overview
Lake Powell has hot fishing. The lake level is rising quickly and that changes where you will find fish. Smallmouth action is very good and striped bass are starting to take baits in traditional spring areas. Read Wayne Gustaveson's fishing report for the latest information.

Strawberry, Scofield and Fish Lake now have open water and good fishing. Fish are dispersed so you may have to hunt them down.

Most streams are challenging because of high water. But flows have peaked on some, and will soon peak on the rest, so conditions should begin to improve statewide. Take care because flows will be dangerously high on some waters this weekend.

Green River cicadas are starting to show up. Fishing will be difficult this weekend because of high water, but flows should now start coming down and action may become quite good next week. Cicadas will become more prevalent and they bring some of the best fishing of the year. Check with the fly shops for the latest info.

The Middle Weber is fishing well and has some Mother's Day Caddis. Lower Weber is difficult.

The Middle Provo is also fishing well. On the Lower Provo, flows are so high that fishing is tough.
