♣ Read our fishing articles Kevin and Jon Fox fished Jordanelle yesterday: "Just as we were getting there the DNR pulled in about 5 or 6 gillnets. Sad to say almost all the fish were chubs. There were some very big smallmouth among the fish and some other fairly nice browns. The brown in the photo (above) weighed in at 9-10 lbs. Out of all the gillnets there were only 9 rainbows. They said they went out 80 yards and pulled the nets back to shore." "We got skunked trolling hard for a few hours. I wish I they would have left the big brown in there but it is nice to know there are nice fish swimming among the chubs!" Featured Property

Spring fishing may peak at Lake Powell this weekend, with hot action for smallmouth, largemouth and crappie. Striped bass and walleye are also being caught regularly. The lake level is now rising fast and that impacts how and where you should fish. Action should be very good through May and then settle back a bit during the heat of summer. Read wayneswords.com for the latest information.Sand Hollow bass fishing is now very good. Strawberry has good to very good fishing in open water. Floating ice may now be gone. Scofield has spotty fishing in open water. Reports suggest the west side is best. The limit at Scofield has changed - read the new regulations. Area streams are in relatively good shape. Steve Schmidt reports: "Flows on all our waters seem to have settled down, except those on the Lower Provo River. Green River is fishing great and the river couldn't be in better shape. The Middle and Weber Rivers flows are good and were looking with this nice weather to see the Mother Day Caddis hatch begin on the Weber." Read his complete report. Green River is fishing particularly well, with BWOs hatching. Even when other streams are high, the Green should fish well from the dam down to Red Creek. As runoff peaks, flows on the Green will be increased to mimic natural conditions, but it should still fish well. Runoff won't peak for another week or two and streamflows may vary from day to day. Talk to the guys in the fly shops to learn the latest conditions, and what flows are doing to bugs and fish. Interesting Reader Posts
